Canon 220EX Flash

Canon produces many external flashes that are high quality and performance, and the Canon 220EX Speedlite Flash is no exception. The 220EX has a fast recycle time and a very high speed syncing, two very positive aspects of this particular flash. While it is not the most powerful external flash Canon offers, the 220EX certainly is a reasonably suited accessory for what it must do. It is relatively compact and fairly quick, much of which is attributed to Canon's decision to use 4 batteries instead of two, decreasing wait times for the photographer and subject alike.

One of the disadvantages of the Canon 220EX Speedlite Flash is its power. At times it is certainly weaker than expected, especially considering the price tag. Many professional photographers recommend spending a little more and getting one of the higher qualified external flashes Canon offers, but for those that do choose the 220EX there is no doubt it can do what is needed. It is a nice complement for the compatible cameras, and other than the power limit has very few weaknesses. When utilized appropriately the Canon 220EX Speedlite Flash is a great product that will do exactly what is needed from it.

The biggest asset of the Canon 220EX is its portability due to its size. It is the perfect external flash for traveling or vacations, and is small enough even to fit into most standard sized pockets. It definitely one of the most accessible external flashes available, which is what makes it favorable to most owners. The biggest downside to the Canon 220EX is the price which is slightly steep; however all of its specifications and physical attributes are certainly acceptable for most photographers and will prove to be a valuable accessory.
