Compared to many of Canon's other 50mm lenses the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro is a little longer and lighter than most. It is also slightly heavier than most of its comparable opponents and features a six blade aperture as opposed to an eight blade aperture. While the price of the Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro is certainly not outrageous, it is definitely a worthy price considering the quality of the lens the user is receiving.
